About Glengyle Garlic

Glengyle is an Ontario Century Farm originally registered as a Holstein dairy farm. Today Glengyle grows garlic and markets it under the business name Glengyle Garlic. Glengyle is aligned with the natural environment. Herbicides and Pesticides have not been used at the farm. Artificial Fertilizers were known to have been used minimally during the 1950s and 60s, but not since. Glengyle is located on the banks of the Mississippi River in beautiful, picturesque Lanark County. Glengyle is focused on: the growing of garlic in a natural environment that is free of non-organic pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers, and on the production of Glengyle’s signature Garlic spreads and dips for which garlic is the defining ingredient. Glengyle is a founding member of the the Perth Garlic Festival and the Carp Garlic Festival. Glengyle is also one of the original founding members of the Ottawa Farmers Market and a member of the Carp Farmers Market for 18 years. We have worked closely with community group such the Mississippi/Madawaska Land Trust to encourage the sustainability of the land and to ensure that we pass it on in the same condition that we found it when we arrived.
